Yonaha Maehama Beach, Miyakojima, Japan

Spanning a length of seven kilometres, the Yonaha Maehama Beach is the star attraction of Miyako Island in Okinawa. It is the site of annual triathlons and has many other sports facilities available. You can spend the day leisurely paddling a banana boat on sparkling blue waters or get your adrenaline up with some jet skiing action.

As shown in the image below, the beach also features the famous Kurima Bridge, connecting Miyako to Kurima Island. Supposedly, you can get amazing photographs at every angle on it.

Kelingking Beach, Bali, Indonesia

This beach is renowned for its stunning cliffs and azure blue waters. Tourists deliberately make a trip to this part of the island just for a selfie from the top. However, getting to the beach is pretty tricky. You have been warned.

The hike down this cliff is downright terrifying if you don’t have a stomach for heights. At about halfway down, there are no clearly defined stairs and you will have to rock climb your way down (bouldering enthusiasts may enjoy this). It takes about an hour to hike one way. Be sure to wear proper shoes!

When you do reach the golden land, the waters are quite rough. Many can’t resist open water swimming but for your own safety, stick to shallower waters and be sure to wear the right equipment.

COMO COCOA Island, Maldives

No list of beaches in Asia would be complete without the iconic islands of Maldives. Located in the Indian Ocean, the Maldives boasts islands of tropical resorts on water. One of the most beautiful has to be COMO COCOA Island beach.

With crystal clear waters, and stretches of sand spits, you will be enthralled by the sight of turtles, sting rays and more. You can arrange for dolphin and shark tours as well as dive into the magical, colorful world of coral reefs below.

Las Cabañas Beach, El Nido, Philippines

Away from the tourists crowds, is a secluded, serene beach. The sunsets are breathtaking and the waters tantalizingly calm. Do note that it is far away from civilisation so you should carry enough cash and be prepared to lose internet connection. So bring along a book, or prepare a picnic to enjoy the day. Don’t forget to bring your sunscreen to protect that smooth skin of yours too!

White Beach, Boracay, Philippines

This beach is so huge that it has three stations. Depending on the section that you are exploring, you can find a range of options for food, accommodation, sports, drinks and shopping. There is something for everyone and for everyone’s budget.

At station one, you will be able to sightsee a religious landmark, the Willy’s Rock. A statue of the Virgin Mary has been carved into the rocks. It can get slippery during high tide so watch your step. This station is also known for the high end luxurious resorts.

Just next to it, is station two, known for its nightlife and shopping area D’Mall. As expected, the accommodation is more affordable, being right in the heart of the action. Lastly, head to station three if you are on a tight budget, or just enjoy some seclusion. Some travelers prefer to live like locals so this is where you can get a true sense of the place.

Railay Beach, Thailand

I have never met anyone who would resist a pretty rock and I think it is fair to say that anyone would enjoy a day out admiring limestone formations. Railay beach is a paradise for rock climbers and the only way there is to take a boat from Ao Nang.

There are resorts providing massages for your worn-out feet. Unlike other destinations, it most remains untouched and it is the perfect place to chill out.

Pink Beach, Komodo National Park, Indonesia

Animal lovers will be pleased to visit this conservation park which protects Komodo Dragons. It is so unique that the place became a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1991. Other than being the home to these magnificent creatures, it holds a beach with pink sand! The sand turns pink due to Foraminifera, an organism that turns corals red.

You will have to book a boat tour to witness this feat of nature, which is about 40 km from Labuan Bojo. It takes about three hours to get there and there are little tent shops by locals when you reach (just in case you need some food). But, considering that there are only 6 pink beaches in the world, it is definitely worth the effort.

Koh Khao Phing Kan, Hanoi

Iconically known for being the set of the James Bond movie, The Man with the Golden Gun, this beach features Koh Ta Pu, a small islet. Take postcard perfect pictures at this spot or spend some time canoeing through the limestone formations. Many prefer to take a cruise but you can choose to take speedboats from phuket to get here.

Haeundae Beach, Busan, South Korea

While beaches are definitely great for chilling, this beach is the perfect spot to party the whole night away. With bars and late night performances on it’s 30-50 meters wide sand bank, the party continues way into the night. The stunning lighted-up view of the city is also something you can’t overlook.

Lovina Beach, Bali, Indonesia

We have brought to your attention a pink beach. We can’t possibly leave out a black beach right? Show off your hard-earned swimmer abs with strikingly white swimwear.

The black sand is said to originate from volcanic ash from Mount Agung.

Many travelers come to this beach for dolphin tours as the waters are calm. There are a few quaint, local stores selling art so it is an ideal spot to pick up some souvenirs.

When the borders open, I may or may not have just told you where I’m heading to. Those instagrammable photos will make you the envy of all. Beach, please!
