Swimming Lessons for Special Needs

Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped (SAVH)

Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped (SAVH) is a voluntary welfare organization for the visually impaired. They aim to promote the needs, interest and aspirations of the visually handicapped. SwimRay started a Charity Swim Program where we engage the visually impaired in swimming lessons.


Program Structure: 


Level 1: Introduction to Water Safety 

How to identify areas of hazard as well as swimming area


Level 2: Water Confidence 

Progressive Drills to help learners overcome themselves and eventually put their head under water to maintain streamline position in water


Level 3: Simple Stroke Introduction and Analysis 

Easy to execute drills for both breaststroke and freestyle

Down Syndrome Association Singapore

Down Syndrome Association is a non-profit social service agency in Singapore that aims to educate the community about the genetic condition. SwimRay hopes to do more for the community and make in a difference in their lives.


Program Structure: 


Level 1: Water Familiarization 

Ability to stay calm and relaxed in the water at all times

Level 2: Water Confidence 

Progressive Drills for learners to start swimming without the use of floating aid 

Level 3: Survival Skills 

Equip learner with skills to handle unforeseen circumstances and to manage themselves
