Choa Chu Kang Swimming Complex

Already a hit among the residents with its lazy river, slides, wave pool, and SPA pool, Choa Chu Kang Swimming Complex was scheduled for an upgrade and the renovation is to be completed this year! The training pool is now sheltered, so the harsh sunlight or heavy rain will dampen your spirits no longer. If this is not a strong enough reason for you to drop down for a visit, the swimming complex now has new water play equipment and water slides too!

Other than the swimming pool, the Sports Centre offers a wide range of amenities such as the air-conditioned sports hall and new active health lab that will be available come 2021.

If you are a parent looking for a leisure swim, Choa Chu Kang Sports Centre got you covered! They now include children day-care centres that you can drop off your kids at before having a well-deserved relaxing day in the pool.

Heartbeat @ Bedok ActiveSG Swimming Complex

One of the newest additions by SportSG, Heartbeat @ Bedok ActiveSG Swimming Complex opened in 2017 and is part of the new Integrated Complex in Bedok North. Being Singapore’s second integrated community hub, it houses the ActiveSG East Bedok Sports Centre, Bedok Public Library, Kampong Chai Chee Community Club, Bedok Polyclinic and a senior care centre. With an area span of 3 football fields and having more than 30 retailers, Heartbeat @ Bedok provides a one stop solution to residents to meet their needs. Talk about convenience!

But enough talking about the facility, let’s bring the focus back to the pool. Other than a competition pool, the Swimming Complex has a sheltered training pool too! It also has an interactive pool with play features for kids to have fun, and a Jacuzzi pool to relax in.

Although residents may feel sentimental about the old Bedok Swimming Complex that was demolished, Heartbeat @ Bedok is a welcomed addition to the community with added amenities in the pool.

Wondering where to go after swimming? The Swimming Complex is just a stone throw away from Bedok MRT and is surrounded by numerous shopping malls such as Bedok Mall and Bedok Point, and food options such as Bedok Hawker Centre.

Jurong East Swimming Complex

The pride of Westies, this is perhaps the first swimming complex that comes to mind when we are talking about fun swimming pools. As it was the first public swimming complex that offers water play features such as lazy river, wave pool, and fun slides, many of us have fond memories spending the entire day playing there since our childhood.

Rent a float at a small fee, and you are all set to just lie down and take a slow ride down a lazy river or enjoy some action at the wave pool. For those that are more adventurous, take your floats and head over to any of the three water slides! Looking to clear some laps or maybe learn swimming? How about signing your children up for the all important children swimming lessons? Aside from the water play features, there is a competition pool too. Ideal for an entire day out with friends and family, everybody will be spoilt for choice and can have a blast at Jurong East Swimming Complex.

Feeling hungry after a whole day splashing? If the KFC in the facility is crowded, you can head over to Yuhua Market & Hawker Centre that is just across the street. There are a myriad of food choices that can definitely fill your tummy.

The newly renovated Jurong Lake Gardens nearby will be the ideal place to end your day. Take a leisure stroll and enjoy the view, or if you are still up for more water activities, have a try at the water activities provided such as Kayaking, Pedal Boating, and Dragon Boating!

Jurong West Swimming Complex

The second swimming complex in the west featured, this pool is the lesser known counterpart to Jurong East Swimming Complex. However, it is definitely still worth taking the trip down to Pioneer MRT Station!

Did you know that they have a sheltered Olympic-sized pool? Yes! No worries if you forgot to check the weather app before heading for a swim (sometimes it’s not that accurate anyway given how fickle minded Singapore’s weather is), you can now enjoy a leisure swim, rain or shine.

Of course, the water slides and the lazy river cannot be missed. Aside from the two gentle water slides in the play area for kids, there is a three-story tube slide for those seeking an adrenaline rush.

When you think that you have seen all that Jurong West Swimming Complex has to offer, well, think again! Other than the standard sport and recreational facilities, Jurong West Sport Centre offers Gym activities and BBQ by the pool. How good is that? The Barbeque pits are available for booking for ActiveSG members, no worries if you are not. It’s easy to sign up on the ActiveSG website, and the best part is membership is free!

Pasir Ris Swimming Complex

Enough of the West, let’s move on and see what the East has to offer! If the west is known for Jurong East Swimming Complex, Pasir Ris Swimming Complex may be the most popular in the East. Located at the edge of Pasir Ris Town Park, and a 7-minute walk away from Pasir Ris MRT Station, many head over to Pasir Ris Swimming Complex with friends and family for a day of fun.

Pasir Ris Sports Centre offers a diverse range of sport facilities and retail options, and the pool is outfitted with water play areas and has features such as slides and jacuzzi.

On top of all the facilities available, the building itself is notable too. From the plants being irrigated by rainwater through a harvesting system, to photo-voltaic cells for energy generation, and landscaping to reduce ambient heat, the building was definitely designed with the environment in mind. Kudos to the designer who incorporated these energy saving features! It is no surprise that the Sports Centre was awarded the BCA 1000th Green Mark Award – Gold Plus.

Sengkang Swimming Complex

Although it might be a hassle taking the LRT to Sengkang Swimming Complex, let me assure you that it will be worth the trip down. Sengkang Swimming Complex is a community’s favorite with all the water play features available.

There are a total of 8 slides, so say goodbye to long waits! The slides are all different – some are taller, while others have twists and turns. Have a go and try them all! If you are worried that the slides are too steep for your child, bring them over to the kids playing area! In addition to having gentler slides, there are other water features that will surely occupy your child. For those that are tired from splashing around, head over to the Jacuzzi pool to enjoy and relax.

Travelled all the way down and is thinking of what else to do after swimming? Visit the Sengkang Riverside Park next door and enjoy the many trails that wind through the constructed wetland. Too tired for a long hike? Go straight to the floating island for a scenic view!

Senja-Cashew Swimming Complex

A short walk from either Senja LRT Station or Bukit Panjang MRT Station (Downtown Line), Senja-Cashew Swimming Complex is a hidden gem tucked in the neighborhoods.

Located right beside Pang Sua pond, it is a great place to destress as you can enjoy the scenic view while relaxing in the infinity pool outfitted with jacuzzi. How good does that sound? Of course, the water play features are not to be missed as well. There is a water play area for your kids to splash around and have fun.

If the food at shopping malls nearby (Bukit Panjang Plaza, Hillion Mall, and Junction 10) doesn’t catch your fancy, how about trying out the popular Ke Ko Mian that is just across the road from Hillion Mall? Do take note of the opening timings before heading over after a swim though.

Tampines Swimming Complex

Did you know that there is a public pool that offers a rooftop view in Singapore? Unlike other public swimming complexes operated by SportSG, Tampines Swimming Complex opened recently in 2017 is located on the rooftop of Our Tampines Hub (Level 6).

Other than the beautiful rooftop view, visitors can look forward to amenities in the swimming complex. There are 6 pools that cater to different interests, including a sheltered 10-lane competition pool for those looking to clock in some laps, and a jacuzzi pool to relax in. Perfect for an after-work relaxation, this pool appeals to adults looking for their beneficial weekly swim fix.

The swimming complex is kids friendly as well, featuring an interactive pool that is outfitted with water play features. Your kids will definitely have a blast splashing around and riding the slides! Practicing a specialized water sport? Tampines Swimming Complex has a swimming multi-purpose pool that is suitable for synchronized swimming and water polo too! Do take note that the pool is only available through event booking though.

Your kids are still excited after a day of splashing in the pool? Bring them to the Eco-community Garden that is in the same building!

Just 3-minute walk away from Tampines MRT Station (East West Line and Downtown Line), Our Tampines Hub is extremely accessible to the residents. Not to mention, there are a lot of amenities in the area and in the Hub itself. The area has 3 large malls surrounding the MRT Station: Tampines 1, Tampines Mall, and Century Square. Of course, there is a high chance that you can find whatever you need at Our Tampines Hub itself. With the countless facilities in Our Tampines Hub like a Library and Hawker Centre, Our Tampines Hub is a one stop facility that can meet all your needs. Consider taking your kids to Our Tampines Gallery at Level 2, or the Eco-Community Garden at Level 5 for an educational trip after a day of fun!
